I would love to attend anything paid for by anybody at which there was wine given to me for free.
You say that now. Join us. Let's test that theory.

I don't necessarily, however, try to get there wine imported.
My grammatical world is all turvy-topsy.

Certainly he accepts gratuitous quantities of free grenache (it would be fine if it was poulsard, but grenache...), and also French translations of German philosophers' texts, and to then turn around and say negative things about the wines on the internet is just gosh-darn rude. On the other hand, to say negative things about the philosophers is an ethical gray area.

Thor:

People always offer us samples of wines we know we won't like. Free wine.

I tell them not to send them.

Not because it would be impolite to accept free wines and then not like them or perhaps write about about them on my blog or here.

But because it would be infantile and boorish.

I thought this was the place for infantilism and boorishness. But seriously why no love for the Talking Heads on this board?

I'll send some Talking Heads love.

The name of the band is Talking Heads...

Cheers,

Infantilism, perhaps, but boorishness, never. And how did we veer into Talking Heads territory? I'll profess some love, even unto my love for "King's Lead Hat." (it will come, it will come, it will surely come)

Much much love for the tour that followed Remain in Light.

And Talking Heads '77 tour, also.

I saw them on both tours and the change was astounding. On the '77 tour, David Byrne looked ready to die from stage fright and the instrumental skills of the rhythm section were questionable at best. By the Remain in Light/Stop Making Sense tour, they not only were far better stage performers and musicians but they'd assembled some quality studio musicians (like Bernie Worrell) to turn their sparse '77 sound into a funk-infused New Wave act. Had the band name not given it away, it might have otherwise been difficult to associate the band of the '83 tour with that of the '78 tour. Both concerts were damn fun, though.

Agree. The transformation from TH '77 to Remain in Light is remarkable. Although I still enjoy both.

Have you listened to the new David Byrne CD yet?
