Domaine de la Ppire / Marc Ollivier Muscadet Svre et Maine Sur Lie "Cuve Eden" Les Gras Moutons 2008
Until 2008 (someone knowledgeable will hopefully fill in the few missing details and correct any other mistakes I've made) Ppire's Cuve Eden was made from two plots: one with Gneiss soil in the famed Les Gras Moutons and another plot, whose name I didn't hear mentioned, also of Gneiss instead of the Granite in the other Ppire wines. But when Ollivier was able to increase his holdings in Les Gras Moutons from 2ha to 3,5ha, he decided to make his famed Cuve Eden entirely from the famed Les Gras Moutons.
Lovely, leesy, citric, marine aroma; good richness despite being a leaner year, lovely acidity, electric and invigorating. Fuck me this is good.
