Joe Dressner is right!

Claude, Brad does not drink that much Burgundy.

I agree about the cheese.

Who said anything about coffee?

I agree on the cheese but this isn't your first trip to France, is it Brad? Something about the cheese jumped out on this trip?

But does it come in 2 different colors AND in individually wrapped slices?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

The rest, too. Indeed, it's very difficult to get a white Rhne that hasn't been ruined by the time it gets to the US.

His problem is that he's not been keeping his pasteurized cheeses in the US for his pasteurized wines. This mix and match stuff is horrendous.

They tried, but Epoisses and Lingot look really bad after they've been squished between plastic film. Just didn't move off the shelf.

I am at this moment drinking a delightful 07 Marcoux white. It will be in its weird period in a year or so and need patience, but it's very nice right now. And I bought it in the US.

I didn't say all. So what's the logic behind your post?

Is this the first & only time Dressner has been right about anything?
Used to have a friend in LA who made numerous business trips to France every year before 911 and would smuggle in cheese each time. Cheeses that could not be imported because of FDA rules. Wow! if it had been drugs I might have made enough money to drink & eat like Plotnicki.

Lou, it may be technically illegal to bring in unpasteurized cheese less than 60 days old, but it's never been enforced at the individual level and often not at the commercial level. I almost always bring it back and declare it and am never asked about it. Your friend is less daring than you thought.

The French coffee sadness has reached new lows, in that many of the cafs 'round here are now listing Nespresso (e[s/x]presso, ristretto, dcafin). Not as an alternative, but as the sole choice in the coffee realm. Well, the sad thing is, it's probably better than what they were serving before, but...ugh.

What else?
