The wine, remarkably, remains very much unchanged, it just has more detail. Flowers, a bit of iron, gently tannic and grapey and long. I liked Don Rice's post that referenced a "peacock's tail" and it surely applies here. The bottle barely had a chance to come to room temperature before it was gone.

She is probably right but this one seems to have the stuffing to go the distance. In fact all the '98 reds from CRB are in fantastic shape.

And maybe saying the wine hasn't changed is inaccurate. It is more contemplative than a decade ago but still way too easy to gulp down.

It might be easier for you to come up here. I'd say tag along with Brad for the big ramp festival next month but maybe you would be more at ease riding the bus.
