'96 Markham Cab

Yes, that Markham...prior to the purchase by a huge conglomerate but still there was a plentiful supply at the time it was purchased (for about $10)

1996 Markham Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, alc 13%...showing a little browning at the edges...promising nose of sweet dark fruit...really singing on the palate...all the requisite flavors of a Calif Cab...rich and chewy with few tannins...in good balance...better than most Cabs at over 5-10X the price...I'm a bit surprised it has lasted this long but it sure is impressive with the grilled beef tenderloin tonight...

Had a bottle of 1994 Markham Cab that drank well during March 2007, my final bottle consumed. Wasn't too surprised, they were solid back then. Unfamiliar with recent vintages but suspect I'm not missing much.
