Alsace junketry, part one

2008.

But only if you like acidity.

Also, for those who wanted sweetish pinot gris from Trimbach but through the Hommage bottlings too sweet and/or too expensive, there's a 2002 "13me gnration" bottling that's worth your time. I'll say that while I like it, I preferred the Hommage versions.

Oh, and how Barms Buecher is able to make a 190g r/s pinot gris that almost has too much acidity is a wonder of the modern winemaking world.

I sold them to the highest bidder. Thankfully, it was Yaniger.
Now there is a voice from the past, the last I heard Yaniger was heading up a group of Tea Baggers in Texas. I miss him, I miss anyone that I know is less lucid than I am and he's a lot younger.

Details?

Oh and you're bitching about Barbera producers not paying for your sojourn to DC? Forget Acela ride Amtrak.

It's tough to get barbera producers to pay for anything anymore, but I'm thinking of hitting up freisa producers; there's a tasting in Cincinnati I'd like to attend. However, the local sylvaner association here in Alsace has been helping with a luxury Vosges safari (see the wild cabbage!), so all's well.

Details (on the pinot gris, I assume) forthcoming, sooner or later.
