Message from Coad

Lou Kessler

Lou Kessler
I emailed Coad a few days ago and told him that Brad K. was being appointed leader of Wine Disorder and Sarah Palin had rejected our invitation to write a guest column because this site wasn't up to her intellectual level. Coad responded today by writing "Brad K. what madness is that" and he would poke around here and see what's going down. Now if we can keep Kane in Europe indefinetly Coad might return. I might break my Atheist's vow and pray to "whom it may concern" for the return of Coad.
To whom it may concern, may be found on page 1 in the Unitarian prayer book.

Really?? Wow, just think -- she's a foreign policy whiz, a nuclear arms expert, a constitutional scholar and who knows what's more! We really ought to get a swollen head about that!

Insofar as I may be heard by anything, which may or may not care what I say, I ask, if it matters, that I be forgiven for anything I may have done or failed to do which requires forgiveness. Conversely, if not forgiveness but something else may be required to insure any possible benefit for which I may be eligible after the destruction of my body, I ask that this, whatever it may be, be granted or withheld, as the case may be, in such a manner as to insure said benefit. I ask this in my capacity as your elected intermediary between yourself and that which may not be yourself, but which may have an interest in the matter of your receiving as much as it is possible for you to receive of this thing, and which may in some way be influenced by this ceremony. Amen.

Oh, you know how to tug at a nostalgic heart string.

Coad's return is looking rather promising, then. My latest flight has been re-scheduled for Friday. Of course, assuming I do make it down to Madrid in time for my flight home on Sunday, with the luck I've been having, my guess is that this latest cloud heading our way will shut down Madrid, too.

One might look at these series of delays as a gift, you know.
There are worse places to be "stuck."
Best, Jim

One of the joys of being a newbie is living in a nostalgia-free zone.
The Politburo had carefully kept track of your participation on the various wine boards and considering the contents of your posts on those boards your membership here is welcome. We find your posts to be totally neutral in content and offend no one. Your newbie days are over, you must help shoulder the burden of this site. Guilt Guilt!!!!

Brings to mind another particularly tangled, if looser bit of prose:

I personally believe, that U.S. Americans, are unable to do so, because, some, people out there, in our nation dont have maps. And, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa, and the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe they should, our education over here, in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa, and should help the Iraq and Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.

Amen.

Coad is the Leon Trotsky of this politburo. They've killed the link on the FAQ.

I am offended! Is there a fate worse than neutrality?
Lou must have missed the bagel thread, apparently cinnamon raisin haters were very offended.

At least one can't be neutral about them.

Hey, no snide remarks I remember when you worked at North Berkeley for Hinkle and I bought a few bottles of wine from you. You owe me, you can't coast forever.

North Berkeley! Isn't that the place where every bottle is so much better than every other bottle that you just can't decide what's best?
