Works by Richard Paul Lohse, Ellsworth Kelly, Gerhard Richter

I think there was a Richter retrospective in London not too long ago. I still have prints of his from my student days; some of the photo-realistic stuff he did was stunning.

Oswaldo,
While I appreciate the irony, you have made a pretty narrow selection and one completely out of context.
Still, worth a look.

I thought this thread was going to be about the current MoMA exhibit.

Those are nakeds, not nudes...

I did go to Marina Abramovic last week and walked between the famous naked couple facing each other 30 cm apart. My objective was to do so with surgical precision so as not to brush either. Once I decided in whose direction I would face (like most, I chose the woman), I slowly slid through, but some reflex made me close my eyes (out of god knows what modesty programming) so that, the horror of it, I brushed some part of the woman with my jacket. Mission unaccomplished. But amazing show. Anyone in NY should not miss it.

I should like to see that show, if for no other reason than to observe the visitors deal with that part of the exhibit.
Something oddly compelling about driving folks outside their comfort zone - as your comments so clearly point up.

No, I was imprecise. I have posters of Betty (http://www.gerhard-richter.com/art/paintings/photo_paintings/detail.php?7668) and Reader (http://www.gerhard-richter.com/art/search/detail.php?8054). I did ask what the editions cost, and figured I could buy Lafite. In HK, natch.

You hardly are, so that's why I asked. I sometimes see and hear interchangeable usage of the terms "print", "reproduction", and "poster" and wondered. I know GR has made quite a few original fine prints, i.e., what I've seen are not reproductions of other works in other mediums, rather they are original works in their own right, done in a fine art print medium. The line can be hazy though...just now saw a b+w print version of "40,000" on his website.

PS - Would love to see the painting, "Betty" in the flesh. Always loved the composition. I also like his earlier, spotty b+w paintings...

He's got editions of 40,000?! Well, that's a crossing rather than blurring of the line to me.

I saw Betty in either London or SF and was mesmerised. It was the earlier black and white stuff, a series on the terrorist group, and then boom! Betty, just after a couple of candle prints. Magical, like tasting a Lafarge Volnay in a big Beaune line-up and realising that others are swooning over the d'Angerville (which was good) instead.
