reasonable place in SF

I usually bid on Priceline when I visit SF. Depending on season you can get some very good prices.

That's what I do when I can't stay with a friend. I've gotten the Westin St. Francis in the past year and half for $75 a night and the Warwick for $70, not including taxes and fees. Good deals given the central location.

Does anybody ever have luck in the same fashion with New York City? Like in late February? Or is there enough static demand for hotel rooms in NYC that the hotels never have to fill up at low rates?

I seem to recall hearing friends mention rates of around $95-$105 for a Holiday Inn and $110-$125 for the Marriott Marquis through priceline off season.

No. Never in NY. There are a lot more hotel rooms in SF given the traffic, hence, better pricing.

The weekend I'm booking for is unfortunately the weekend before Valentine's day, so yeah, not exactly a budget weekend. I curse your conference scheduling timing college art association!

Oh well, mid-February NYC jeebus anyone?

Or should I just slide off the the sadly neglected jeebus board?

Cheers,

Kevin

I see you've studied the Jay C. Miller Guide to Long Term Jeebus Planning. Now, only send one update about it, preferably a week before the dinner.
