2004 Marcarini Barolo Brunate 14.0%

People kept saying the '04 Burgs would be closed out. I haven't seen much, just stagnant stock and prices.
It's been going on here steadily, although in modest numbers (maybe they were able to force more than I thought on people who insisted on certain 2005s?). 2006s are starting now, too. And some very good 2002s!

They're closing out '02s? Most of them sold out in SG and HK except for the village-level wines (which is fine except I have a lot). And some of the names just aren't discounted.

Bouchard P&F 2002 Volnay-Caillerets, Ancienne Cuve Carnot, the best plot of Caillerets, for $35. About 2 mos. ago. Admittedly, I'm informed the wine came straight from the cellars and not from the leftover stocks of the importer.

Did you buy some?

I saw that and was very close to purchasing. Kicked myself for not doing it. But I can't have everything.

You betcha! Even though I already had a tidy sum of it. I did pass on the 2006 Gouges Clos des Ports and Chaines Carteaux, but only because of a lack of storage space and advancing age, though.
