The plague

I guess I don't fall into the 'everyone' category, 'cause this association makes no sense to me.

My apologies about the word "everyone." It shows my tunnel vision. I meant that it's a critical commonplace. That's far from meaning it's true, only that your friend has large, credentialed company--maybe that's the worst kind.

Original post reminds me of the time I visited Dal Forno. Romano was traveling, and I met with one of the (early 20s?) sons. Went down into the gorgeous new cellar, slowly illuminating line after line of immaculate barriques. Straddling the barrel, while spraying in CO2 as he thief-ed me a sample, he asked, "So, what are your thoughts on Spanish wine?" I proceeded to ramble on, trying to be mindful of who I was talking to as I walked the line between my appreciation of traditional producers and concern over a market-driven homologation in style. After thoroughly inserting my foot in my mouth, I finally asked, "But why do you ask?" His response, "Because I have never had one."

I also like the Stranger (mistranslated as the title is), but that's not sufficiently etrange to be admissible on a hipster bored.
Strange. The edition I read, a long time ago, was entitled The Outsider.

UK translation. As I said above, a better translation of the title I think. I've only seen that version, not read it, though.
