Couple Beaujolais

08 Lapierre. Pretty closed, iron, stern. Good balance, somewhat 06 like. I'm sure this will come around but not really that pleasant now.

07 Thivin. I had high hopes, given what a fan I am of 07 CB's. This was decent, but a tad reticent, and even sleepy. Not anywhere in the same league as the Roilette or the Chermette Trad VV for current drinking, but certainly more accessible than either of the Descomes. I would tend to hold. But, probably the best young drinking Thivin in the last 6 years or so (I have not had the 08).

Had the duo of 2007 Thivins the other day.

They didn't do much for me.

Though it was a root day, so maybe that accounts for their surliness...

An 08 Lapierre I had about two weeks ago was a bit more open and pleasant than yours, BJ, but I agree that they must need some time.
