Hi Larry,

I just moved (well a year ago) from the Belmont hills to Woodside. So Thor might be right, we may actually have lived 7 feet from each other. I think we may have met at a jeebus up in the city one time, I know I remember your name from the old WLDG.

We'll have to jeebus again sometime soon...

What the hell happened to Bryan Loofburrow? (spelling?) He was very active in the wine scene here in the bay area and then he totally disappeared overnight.

Used his recos in Hong Kong and when we came back he never answered any of my emails. Hoke at the same time had the same experience

I don't think I know much.

He came to a dinner at my house in Berkeley in Sept 2006 (I think I invited you as well but you told me you never went out without your wife on the weekends). At that point he had already been off the wine boards for a while but he seemed interested in connecting for dinners and was going to come to another one in Spring 2007 but cancelled because of illness.

That is pretty much the end of my communication with him but the impression I got was that he was less and less interested in this scene, for whatever reason. But not necessarily that a light went on/off overnight.
 
I emailed Bryan last month to see if he had any Chinese dining recommendations for Vancouver. Sandi and I are going there for a week in August for our honeymoon. He contacted a friend in that area who is very current on what's happening, and forwarded me that response. He seemed OK and was still living in Petaluma.

Thanks, Rahsaan, I was wondering what happened to Bryan as well. I first met him at one of the Bay Area offlines, and discovered that we grew up in the same town on the east coast and I knew his brother (slightly) as a kid. Then it sure seemed like he disappeared, but it's good to know he's OK.
