TN: Excesses in the Cellar

Hence my 12-year prognosis. I think I'd buy his 06s and 07s first, based on our experience with the the HCdB. Who knows where I'll be by the time the 05s come 'round?

I picked up a little 06 Bize Vergelesses on close-out. His Fourneaux is a sentimental favorite, but the seller resold my order to someone else before I could ship. Yadda, yadda.

Have you ever tried Chandon de Briailles's Fourneaux, by the way?

Speaking of 02 Cornas, has anyone had the 02 Clape? I have a few.

I had the '02 Clape about three weeks ago. It was also part of a big night of drinking, but my impression was it was pretty good to go. No crushing tannins. It wasn't super aggressive.

Some bramble, a lot of red/purple fruit, black pepper. Not as funky iron/blood/iodine as I like in my Syrah, but very beautiful. Definitely not as feminine as Cote Rotie, but also not brooding.
