Me and my family

I had thought that trainspotting had more or less fallen out of favor after Irvine Welsh's paean. Guess not.

We're at the Lyon mainline/Dijon TGV split, up on the plateau above Montbard. Not far from Chablis. We've just had a great lunch at a very nice auberge - name slips my mind - which included a 96 Dauvissat and 91 de Montille.

Life sucks, doesn't it, Brad? We had a great lunch near Chablis in a restaurant that was an old mill house. We'll head back the next time we're in France and look for that RR overpass. I doubt that we'll have the technology to post footage to Youtube, though.

I think we may have been to the same place. Out in the boonies, 45 min or so south of Chablis?

I wish that I could recall well enough to tell you. I'm fairly sure that it was on the Yonne and I know that we found it as a Bib gourmand listing in the Guide Rouge. We were driving that day from Charles de Gaulle to Lyon to begin a month in France (those were the days: a month in France in '01 set us back $3000 in toto; the dollar was worth 7-8 FF [1.25-1.4 Euro]) and the restaurant was pretty much on our route.
