Is July 10-17 this year a good time to visit Beaujolais?

Any events anyone know of have the good winemakers out of town that week? LD roadshow, that sort of thing?

I don't know anything about Beaujolais in particular, but wouldn't availability be affected somewhat by July 14th?

It's a great time to visit the Rhone. And July 14 is the Vacqueyras wine fete midday repas in the middle of town. Don't know about Beaujolais.

Sounds interesting. I assume decent winemakers are involved and it's not just jovial drinking? (Not that there's anything wrong with jovial drinking)

Stage 7 of the TdF will start at nearby Tournus on 7/10. Sadly, Le Volcan wrecked my April plans. I'd be happy to PM some research.

Decent winemakers offer their wines for tasting during the fete. The repas is mostly jovial drinking and eating. July is the month for wine fetes in this area. In addition to Vacqueyras, both Violes and Cairanne have them. At all of these, some very good domaines show their wines.
