Clos Roche Blanche Cuvee Gamay 2008... Unbelievable wine. I am an idiot for not buying more of this.

Great bottles of this and Pascal are benchmark grenache for me. Haven't had the 2007.

Yum is a terrible word. Don't use it.

I love the 08 CRB Gamay, but don't get it having more concentration than the 07 Cuvee Marcel. I'm still not sure what I think of that Lapierre, but concentration is one thing I'm pretty sure it has.

I love the 08 CRB Gamay, but don't get it having more concentration than the 07 Cuvee Marcel. I'm still not sure what I think of that Lapierre, but concentration is one thing I'm pretty sure it has.

It depends on what you mean by 'concentration', but I'm tempted to say that you're right and I'm using the word in an overspecialized sense relative to the context. What I meant is that the taste profile includes a depth and concentration of fruit that to me outshines that of the MMVII (to be fair, I think my bottle of the latter was a little closed, but in the spirit of the thread it would have to be closed a whole hell of a lot to ever catch up to the CRB Gamay). But I think 'concentration' is often used to refer to raw physical thickness, and in that sense you're absolutely right, the Lapierre is the thicker wine.
 
I'm very happy to have put a few of the real cork '08 gamay away. Just picked up 2 bottles of the synthetic cork from Crush yesterday (an order from several months ago that was being held up by some other prearrival wines) so they can tide me over until the '09s arrive.
 
I got two more '08s but they aren't real cork, so I'll have to drink them. Thanks Ian.

For the record, I had another '91 Sinskey last night and it was markedly better than the first. I think I still like the Porter Creek a little better for the nose, but the Sinskey had some impressive berries and leather on the palate. Nice older wine and definitely into 'good' territory.
 
Even under plastic, I'd bet the 08s are good for another year or so, in any event. I suppose also you're following the recent chatter about the 09.
