Huet-L'Echansonne question

Flipping through a glossy mini-catalog from Lavinia yesterday as I noshed on a smoked-salmon sandwich, I saw that they were flogging what they captioned Huet Ptillant Brut (non-vintage). In fact, from the image of the bottle, the animal in question was L'Echansonne Brut.

I fiddled around on the Huet website, but they don't seem forthcoming about that wing of their production, so I was wondering if any here know how the domain works, and what precisely are the L'Echansonne wines. Ngoce?

Has anyone drunk them?

I have had the NV Huet Ptillant Brut (also from Lavinia; they'd mistakenly sold it as "2001" but it wasn't), and wasn't charmed as I am by the vintage ptillants. I don't imagine buying L'Echansonne, even in the name of science, but am curious to cross the t's and dot the i's.

We don't have any 2002 yet.

ETA: Correction; I believe Tony Hwang said last year at the Salon des Vins de Loire that there had been a first, early release of '02 in France but it had been blown through. As all y'all in the States were buying and quaffing, buying and quaffing over the months, we were sitting around looking at '01s on the shelves (and sometimes in our fridges and glasses, truth be told).

Had '01 a couple of weeks ago at Willi's Wine Bar.

As they are listed as "Selection Nol Pinguet," I'd surmise that, yes, they are Ngoce wines. Whereas the other SNP wines are listed as domaines (Philippe Pichard and Kirlyudvar) L'Echansonne is not.

But, no, haven't had the wine.

I noticed that on second lookthe English version specifies they're a selection by NP; the French simply says "Vins de l'Echansonne." Curious sleight of hand. Or translation work.
