Flipping through a glossy mini-catalog from Lavinia yesterday as I noshed on a smoked-salmon sandwich, I saw that they were flogging what they captioned Huet Ptillant Brut (non-vintage). In fact, from the image of the bottle, the animal in question was L'Echansonne Brut.
I fiddled around on the Huet website, but they don't seem forthcoming about that wing of their production, so I was wondering if any here know how the domain works, and what precisely are the L'Echansonne wines. Ngoce?
Has anyone drunk them?
I have had the NV Huet Ptillant Brut (also from Lavinia; they'd mistakenly sold it as "2001" but it wasn't), and wasn't charmed as I am by the vintage ptillants. I don't imagine buying L'Echansonne, even in the name of science, but am curious to cross the t's and dot the i's.
