2009 Clos Roche Blanche Alert! Only 12 cases are available of the 2009 CRB Gamay and 8 cs of Pineau DAunis ros. The Gamay is very good but needs a few years to calm down. Those interested should email david@chambersstwines.com to reserve the incoming inventory.

Equally important, these are the best, I think, of Hank Jones dates as a leader (referring to Claude Kolms post), some of which are available on itunes: Oracle, with Holland and Higgins, 1989; For My Father, with Mraz and Mackrel, 2004; Trio 1991, with Vinding and Foster; Duo, with Red Mitchel; Bluesette, with Duvuvier and Dawson, 1979; I Remember You, with Duvivier and Jackson, 1977; Compassion, with Duvivier and Dawson, 1978; Solo, on Savoy 1956 and on Galaxy, 1978; and Steal Away, with Charlie Haden.

That '09 is superb.

Catherine thinks aging their gamay is nuts.

I recall this observation from your last set of notes. Funny that David so firmly feels the 09's should get several years (judging by Scott's note as well as the CSW blurb).

Just looked at the site now... 6 bottles remaining of the gamay and a vigorous note to absolutely not drink it now.
Just put an order in for four of those. Site doesn't seem to be updating, so who knows if the bottles are still there.

I have been assured by powers mysterious and deep that more will arrive shortly. No one should get shorted. Except John Travolta and Gene Hackman, who will Get Shorty.

Tell your source thanks for the info. Good work Deep Throat (and of course I mean that in an 'All The President's Men' not a Linda Lovelace kind of way).

Anyone know if the pineau d'aunis rose is cork or synthetic?

I still have 2 synthetic 2008 gamays which will help me keep my hands off the ones with cork and the 2009s for a bit.

I miss the days when most of the Gamay allotment went to the west coast.

I bought some at Haggens two years ago even!

I still remember the day when I was going hiking up the Baker River in spring and realized I'd forgotten to bring along wine - made what I thought was a last ditch stop at Haggen Mt. Vernon. Lo and behold, a Pepiere Granit! It was delicious.

Haggen comes through!
