OK, were set for July 10-17. We have a gite in Regnie. We've been in the area several times before, but thought I'd post for a total gleaning of the aggregate WD mind.

We will probably try to visit Lapierre, Foillard, Thevenet, Roilette, Thivin, Chanrion, Descombes, Metras, and of course Jean Paul and Brezeme down in Chaintre.

Lunches at the Auberge de la Col d'Truges, and certainly several meals at the Auberge du Cep.

We will hit up the Morgon cave for back vintages.

Catch the Tour in Tournus on the 10th.

Anything else? Any other places to get older vintages?

On your way south to Charnay I would highly recommend visiting the covered farmer's market in Villefranche sur Saone. It's a great authentic place to stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables. There are a couple of butchers for homemade sausages and such too. I think its only open in the mornings, and maybe Fri-Sunday, not sure about the hours. It is perfect for picnic supplies or for picking up things to cook later in your apartment.

but seriously have fun, i am envyous of your trip. I saw the Tour pass by not too far from there a few years ago and it was great!
