Reinhold Haart 2001's: Anybody have any recently?

Am off the wagon due to my sheer idiocy in taking 2 antibiotics a day instead of 1. I am off them so I can drink, the reason I took them is gone, but I might have damaged my liver in the process. Blood test results await. But while I'm waiting I want to drink a bottle of Haart 2001 Spatlese or Auslese tonight. Both Piesporter Goldtropfchen. Got a nice stash and haven't checked in since release. I have had older Haart at the estate but it's never really wowed me, and I have possibly concluded that these might be better on the younger side. So anybody had these recently?

cellartracker indicates I drank a spatlese in late april, 2009 - my comment was just one word - "yumola" (sorry to those who think "yum" is a bad tn).

So if it was yumola, I guess my bottle will sing. Thanks.

Haven't opened a 2001 Haart since about 2003, but when I visited the '90s and '94s that he poured were some of the highlights of my trip. I am therefore keeping my hands off for a couple more years.

Then again you and I have never agreed on which German Rieslings are the best or the best agers, so take my comments with a grain of salt.

Domherr ready to go in the adolescent stage. Goldie not yet, especially not the late release from the older plots. Had them last year and a couple of months ago respectively.

I just put a goldie spat in fridge. How can I tell if it's a late release?

I visited in August 2008 and he poured an 89PGS that I thought would have been fresher and more energetic 5 years previous.

I can see that kind of reaction to an '89. Not exactly a "fresh flower" sort of vintage. I'm not a huge fan (from virtually anyone) except for the fact that it's my wedding year & my wife loves auslese.

I've been opening some upper Praedikat MSR '99s lately (though no Haart), and they are mostly too young, so my 01s remain snuggled in their bedclothes for now.
