vollenweider's 08s are excellent - yes, they are rich (like Loosen's wines) but the acidity is there and they are about the best he's made (at least to my palate). Loosen's 07 WS kabinett may be the kabinett of the vintage, to my taste at least.
And I think there's room to love both Loosen and Schmitt-Wagner - I certainly do (although I agree one has to be choosy among vintages with Loosen, unlike, e.g., Selbach and Prum) and the latter's 01s were once plentiful in my cellar and now, alas, are few.
