Yawnfest? Not likely. No, these Veep debates usually provide the best theater of the whole campaign. Who can forget "I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was my friend. And you, sir, are no Jack Kennedy." or "Who am I? What am I doing here?"? My personal prediction is for Palin to oscillate between incoherence and full bore vituperation with occasional excursions into cute/adorable. Biden's the real story here: will he be able to contain his penchant for loquaciousness, not mention his penchant for gaffes? will he be able to engage Palin without appearing either condescending, dismissive, contemptuous or sexist? and will he use his own words rather than appropriating someone else's bon mots? Politics just doesn't get much better than this, I tell you, at least outside of Turkmenistan.

That Bentsen line was the one moment of drama I've ever seen during one of these things, and if Biden tried a zinger like that he'd come off as a hockey-mom-abusing bully, so he's not going to.

I hope I'm wrong, though. I love drama as much as the next political junkie.
