narcissism finshing with sincere questions

earlier tonight Slows played Wire, Air Supply, the B-52s and the Beastie Boys. It was a strange night.

i'm freaking out, trying to imagine where social justice intersects my appetite for unobtainable puzelat wines. both bring me to wine disorder.

mock. curse. defend. humor. enlighten. smash.

just circles.

what pink wines do you like? domaine de blanes 2008 "le clot" pink wine seems to be drinking good around these parts, especially now that local inventories are depleted. AHD = heroes. i would declaim sarcasm, if it weren't sure, just here, to be read as doubling the sarcasm down ...

north carolinians (for example). what are you doing for wine in this heat? (and humidity.)?

who has mixed hibiscus tea into the "refrigerator whites"?

Oh dear. Glen Beck.

As to pink, we just tried the now-topical Baudry and were not captivated. My favorite recollection of a pink is a Muga we drank several years ago. I just ran across another recently and we'll open it soon.

Consider Vino Verde instead.

By the way, I'll be in your neck near the end of June.

Had '09 Baudry rose with hot dogs (Hebrew National Ball Park Franks) hot off the grill last night (here, not far from North Carolina). I really like the Baudry rose this year (he said, without sarcasm). Then watched The Daily Show.

Really like the photo too.

I just picked up a CRB Pineau d'Aunis Rose which is always a favorite. But I haven't tried this year's version yet. It's slotted for warmer weather.

I am not free the 18th or 26th, but most other dates in late June should work for me. Ian?

Maybe when we have a list of dates we should post this on the Jeebus board and see if others are interested.

I PM'd Putnam. For me best would probably be mid-week the last week of June. I am to some extent at the mercy of my MI-based family, however.

Mid-week is actually pretty good for me. Let me know what you guys come up with and I will do my best to join you, probably +1 with my wife.

'09 Baudry, pink is working in FL and, since I'm headed for NC tomorrow, I'll probably take a bottle along just to see if the pressure gradient in the mountains makes a difference.

Roger that.
Best, Jim

We've been enjoying some of the off dry pleasures, Bera Moscato for example. Something about the dash of sweetness and flowers helps get you through a 95 degree 95% humidity day.

There has also been a lot of Muscadet, with 2008 Gras Moutons from Ollivier being a favorite. And of course, Txakoli.

Quite a few bottles of 2008 Foillard with a slight chill while eating outside at Vin Rouge.

The surprise thus far has been the deliciousness of Three Trees white (and red) from Tom Lubbe.

The 2009 Baudry rose is not here yet, but will be soon. I wait anxiously.
