Moderate surprise

Florida Jim

Florida Jim
We are in NC and will attend a wedding of friends this evening.
Yesterday afternoon they had a party for those who will be attending and there were about 160 people.
Wine was served.

One expects very little under such circumstances.

Surprise, surprise when I stepped up to the bar and they were serving 2006 Vissoux, Fleurie Poncie.
Yummy.

Best, Jim

The free samples must be rolling in.

Well, he turned me onto Beaujolais and Vinho Verde, and that in itself might be called a sin in come circles. Heaven to me.

Let's stick with sin - I'm a bit more comfortable in those environs.

I understand it's best if you have a blog.

WD seems not to google well, I think it's cutting into your publicity.

Well, if Thor's right, I should be thankful.

Thor's probably the unhappy recipient of discards from the Board's favorite importer, part of some stealth campaign.

At least there hasn't been any casein-infused vodka.

Actually, living in Massachusetts means almost no samples. Which, in retrospect, isn't all that much of a loss. But even the optimistic few who've tried to send them usually fail. There was a year in which some producers tried to work out a writer-visits-distributors'-warehouse scheme, but I don't think the distributors much liked that plan.

...though on the upside, it's been quite a while since any of them offered to break my or Theresa's kneecaps for writing about what I saw/felt there.

Boy, am I glad I don't get samples anymore. *sigh*
