Wine Discussion Grinds to a Halt as

My favorite part from the tasting website --

"All wines were evaluated by a select group of judges under the most ideal tasting conditions"

I'm glad we got that part covered, I was worried about the tasting conditions until they assured me that they were "most ideal."
 
Have they discovered the platonic ideal of wine!? What exiting news!

It probably tastes like gumdrops and rainbows with a hint of sparkles, in fact, extra sparkles.

This was helpful, I was wondering if I wanted the Bouchard Meursault at 95 points and $45.99, or Gallo Family Twin Peaks Chard at 94 points and $4.99. Hmmmm. What did Harry Waugh say about blind tastings - "A peak at the label is worth 10 years experience"?

I guess it's no wonder all American wines can say they are "Award Winning".

Maybe I should go into that business and have people pay me to give out medals too.

You really only have to read as far as the category names. International red. Blended red.
 
A 10 year old tawny wins the Port category? Which isn't in the dessert category? And they tasted tawnies against vintage/LBV style?

Not to mention a lot of the other bizarre stuff.
