Be sure to include the Vernaccias of Contini. They are fantastic wines. Especially the solera (unusual for the area) Antico Gregori. It has an average age betweeen 60-70 yrs. Unfortified, but "cask strength"-wine with alcohol around 17% and extremely intense mouthfeel.

2 versions will be served, the NV and the 1987. Contini Vernaccia di Oristano is a personal favorite.

Love it too. I sold it at my first retail gig in Manhattan, the now defunct Wine Shop.

Levi,

At Kermit Lynch I tasted a Flor wine from Domaine de la Rectorie in Collioure that was Grenache Gris and Grenache Blanc. It was fantastic.

You're an Oristano OG, bro.

Thanks for the KL tip.

it's gonna be The Hot ZoneBring your own Andromeda Strain, or try what we find ourselves!

I won't shower for a month before the dinner. Should get some nice strains out of that.

Levi,

Your timing is impeccable for this event. There's a Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables joke in here somewhere. I do like a chilled Manzanilla aperitivo this time of year.

Definitely interested. Are Amontillado and Palo Cortado considered as falling in this category? I have a Pedro Romero VORS Amontillado on hand.
