How come nobody's said a word about the World Cup?

Is that the kickball game?

I tried to watch for a few minutes, but the weird buzzing shit going on in the background gave me a headache, so I went back to baseball.

My rooting will wait until late August, in Turkey.

I follow a larger round ball...

I made a promise to myself that I would in good faith watch the game today. I confess that I lost interest and switched over to the PGA golf. Watching golf on television has been compared to watching grass grow. I now officially have given up on soccer. The funny thing both our younger sons played varsity soccer in high school. We watched their games numerous times. After high school they both lost interest in soccer totally. The same thing happened to their friends. The climate is bad for soccer in this country. The best athletes in the USA go into other sports because the money is better.

The specially-designed GO AWAY, VIEWERS! noisemakers are a nice touch, too. I was amazed that something more grating than Thundersticks exists in this world. Perhaps next time around they can engineer something so that your TV gives you electric shocks if you turn the match on?

Their PR people are geniuses.

What's a world cup and how much does it hold? Does Riedel make it?
Now I will not speak for Chris but I resent being topped by anyone named Hank. Also fuck mr reidel whoever he is?

It has to well played to be attractive to watch (says he, with an air of insouciant superiority about to be humbled).
Ah ha... Therein lies a catch-22. It also helps to be able to watch the game played well in order to learn how to play well. It's changing now, with soccer (I am American) games shown more frequently on TV, but still if you can't see how some of the best players in the world actually play (the more frequent the better) it's not going to help. That's not to mention the myriad of other factors hampering a truly soccer-centric America.

PS I wouldn't go touting your Selecao as being so pretty to watch. You did see the Portugal game, right? Not so attractive.

Ethnic slurs...

Then again, whatever it was that Italy was doing, it did not work...

Why?Maybe nobody's watching it because they'd rather watch a sport?
You mean like one of those steriod infused entertainments favored by the networks and their advertisers?
