2000 Les Cailloux (Lucien et Andr Brunel) Chteauneuf-du-Pape, alc 14%...newer vintages of this have not been to my tastes at all...this one is intermediate between the '98 and the '01 style...a mixture of sweet and savory with smoke, meat, and bing cherry...still a little too "clean" for my likes in Chateauneuf....I really liked the '95 version of this wine....

This has often been a bottling with good quality price ratio.

Agreed...the '00 and '01 have usually been about $30 or so....pretty good

From the late 80s through 95, this was a go-to wine for me. The 89 and 90 were particularly wonderful. My 98s have shown very early evolution. 00 and 01 have done better, as has the 99, but it wasn't quite the same wine. I stopped buying after that.
