My vote is for Mosse. The wines are stunning.

Loved their Arena Savennires at Verre Vol last year. Don't see it imported into the US of A.
Dressner has had the wines for a while. I had beers with Rene just last October at the event.

When I was at Baudry there were other visitors, too. One of them was the chef at a 1-star. I think that improved the selection of wines we tasted.

We had an excellent visit with Pierre Jacques Druet. He challenges a great many wine making assumptions (bizzare-shaped vats, high fermentation temperatures) but is a lovely person, a generous host, and his wines were pretty special.

Oswaldo,
While we wait for the 2nd ed of the Friedrich book there is this one, just published by Sang de la Terre.

If you've never read the quarterly "Le Rouge et le Blanc" you'll want to at least check it out for the in-depth articles about new/bio estates. Plus, no ads.

This is their just-published Loire book - my copy just arrived this morning, but it looks to be largely drawn from grower profiles they've published in their quarterly.

As for CRB SB, try the '09 and get back to me.

I tried the SB #2 this week. Where do I find you?

No, try the gamay and get back to me.

Assuming I know where to find you, where do I find the gamay ?

I don't know the purpose of your travel. You have included in your list many old values of the 90'. It's a revival travel ? (always state of the art like Baudry or Clos Rougeard but also very trash like Baumard...), middle of the road estates (like Closel, Robinot or Nicolas).
If you want to taste the new kids on the block, try :
- Montlouis : Xavier Weisskopf & Frantz Saumon
- Chinon : Pascal Lambert
- Anjou : Ren Mosse, Richard Leroy & Benoit Courault
- Bourgeuil : Sbastien David
- Saumur : Philippe Gourdon
And many others...

And "Xavier Weisskopf"? An alias if I ever heard one.
Hello,
Domaine du Rocher Des Violettes.
It's a XXI century estate (2005).

Completely agree, plus the guy is a hoot.

And as for winemakers who are great to talk to, I'd include Richard Leroy. So, if you like his wines, that is a good choice.
