TN: A few when Manuel was here

Kane only takes notes on the big-money wines.

So, where's your write-up Herr Cod? This dinner was before Victor's visit, yet you managed to recount that jeebus first? Is the Latin Liquidator no less worthy than the Manchuela Mauler?

I dunno, it seems like ever since Camblor moved to the tropics I see him every other weekend.

Plus, Victor had HANDOUTS. You don't know how much that helps my creative process.

I've got a few in the queue, just need some free time to bang them out. Stay tuned to this station.

Sorry, Thor, but Rahsaan's wrong. Double blind is when you know nothing about the wine. Single blind is when you know the wines to be tasted, but not which is which.

What you're apparently thinking of is a 'double-blind experiment,' like some kind of sciencey thing.

Well, having once been blond and not caring for such a state of affairs, I asked the offerer of this brilliant magnum of '71 Latour what the wine was and he told me immediately, so so much for blindness, single, double or whatever.

So, even a wine double-blind tasting is still only a scientific single-blind experiment.

That makes communication much simpler. Thanks, everyone.

Yep. A glossary:

"Double-blind" is single-blind.
"Varietal" is variety.
"Extracted" is over-fruited.
"Elegant" is < 85 points.
"Pain grill" is Provenal underbrush.
"Garrigue" is a famous pinot noir vineyard in California.
"Ploussard" is a drunken Jura vigneron designing his labels.

Got it?

Jeez, Bradley! That's all you drank when I was there? WTF? What happened to Mascarello, or Nieva, or so much other...

Just finished watching the VP debate. I'm still laughing my ass off. The McCain She-bot says "nucular". Ah, Amerika...

What's the matter, LL ? "doggone it" is not as fashionable as "yo, man" ? That's OK, I am an UWS city boy myself.

Ooops, I meant "having once been BLIND". Of course, for about three days in 1987 I may or may not have been a blond.

Oh, and .sasha, "Jeez" was just me preparing for a possible Palin administration. I draw the line at that "gosh" thing, though.

To my ear, "doggone it" is so corny as to seem contrived. Almost Austin Powers, no one's said it for 30 years.

Say it ain't so, Joe, there you go again!

I think we all know what a maverick Joe is.
