Where is the Digger?

A few weeks ago he posted a great Jacques Brel clip in which the singer expounds on passion and idleness.

To this Le Digger added his own very personal piece explaining why has been pulling his punches and only posting photos for many months. It was an apologia detailing the struggle between one's passionate, shit-stirring, snark-talking nature and the experience of doing business in the same world you speak so freely of, as well as a tale of coming to terms with criticism from those you respect. It was probably a bit much for the natural wine scenesters hitting up his blog for more photos of the cellar at Huet, but it was some of the most honest and real writing I'd seen from him.

Then he deleted his blog. WTF.

Hit up Google's cache if you missed it.
And then make some noise.

He deleted himself from the net...Twitter, Facebook, and blog. It's a shame, albeit probably one of the better business decisions he's made, but some of us have seen dozens of both trumpeted and unannounced digital hiatuses (hiatii?), so it's not like a strange new thing as yet unseen in the online wine world.

This has inspired me to go on a digital social hiatus. I am off WD, WB, FB, Twitter, MYspace, Small World Rockss and Fruit, Netflix, .....wait.....shit...there goes my life. Second thought . .

The digger is dead.

Long live the digger.
I say we pour out a little Overnoy for our digger homie who isn't here with us anymore. Hopefully where ever he may be he's listening to some gay '80s euro disco. I'll put on some Moroder and grow a fat moustache in his honor.

I had bookmarked his "Couple of Days in the Beaujolais" reports for future use and now they're lost. If anyone saved them, please let me know.

Well, not sure who the Digger is, but his note of "believe it or not, i am not half the asshole some peoples think i am" could describe many of us hardcores.
