Biodynamics

Thanks Steve. I think that what Tom is doing can only be seen as a good thing, although you can be sure someone will try and throw a wrench in it.

Whether it turns out to be a good thing depends a little on his methodology. I think he has to observe what Bio-D vignerons are doing in the field as well as the theory and actually look at the details of that practice over several years, I think. It's actually a fairly ambitious PhD topic in that respect.

Despite the fact that I myself am a partisan of science, reason, the enlightenment, etc., his rhetorical postures towards same make me worry a little bit that an Amazing Randi-type treatment is in the works. I don't think in this case that would be particularly helpful.

I'm a big fan, but I don't know if his worldview and yours are precisely aligned.

More relevantly, the biggest advocate I've ever been personally acquainted with was Yaniger. So, you know...

don't know Amazing Randi; should I?

That depends, Steve. He's a well known magician-turned-skeptic who's made a career of debunking various forms of "paranormal" powers. He's blunt, highly opinionated and sharp as hell. Can't imagine why Yaniger likes him (insert emoticon here).

Really? I'd thought you met Lisa.
