2009 Chateau de Segries Tavel Rose, al;c 14%...too red in the bottle and in the glass...looks like red Kool-Aid....starts out bitter then turns candied and oversweet....I guess if your head is in an oven and your ass is in a freezer, you are comfortable on the average....Hate it in my wine, however

I had fun with their Cotes de Rhone for a year or two a long time ago. Haven't spent time with Segries's wines since. Thanks for the note.

I drank a bottle of the 09 Tavel Trinquevedel rose last week. It had a similar quinine like bitter flavor in the middle. Not candied though. I liked it, but it definitely was a "big" style of rose, more of a food wine then a sip on the deck by itself drink. Went great with cracked Dungeness crab.

Dungeness....I'm stuck in a heat wave in Kyoto, and won't be back in the NW till November...such a hard word to read, but I keep reading it over and over again.
