NWR-US Open

A few nights ago Wozniacki didn't start until almost midnight.

Lots of entertainment for those who get home late!

See the other thread about a newborn baby and my schedule now turning topsy turvy.

But, I've been keeping an eye on the matches from the hospital as well.

Regardless, I always marvel at how the players can produce such high levels of physical performance with such unpredictable start times. Not an easy thing.

Hope everyone is well and adjusting.

At 75% owl, I love the late starts. But then, I watch much of the Australian Open live, too.

Watching Formula 1 live on the west coast is also quite the hoot. Pre-race programming starts around 4:30 AM for the European courses. Watching tennis is a piece of cake by comparison.

-Eden (at least the Rolex/American Le Mans series is shown at a reasonable hour)

NWR-US OpenThis is ridiculous, they're starting the Nadal-Lopez match after 11 PM.

No memories of Connors winning under the lights at 3 am or something like that? Plus a change...

Ended at 1:35 AM per the WSJ. I doubt it started at 11 PM or later.

It's so we on the forlorn continent that starts with an E can wake up to tennis with our syrah....

ETA: Actually, I think Federer goes better with grenache gris.

The presumed celebs wearing sunglasses at the night matches are absurd. There must be an Open special on cosmetic surgery or something.

And why exactly does Nadal have to pull his pants out of his crack after every single point??? Can't he afford pants that fit?

Nah. Chasselas (which in Switzerland can get suprisingly good.) Too much garrigue and funk in grenache gris for this guy with the razor hair cut.

Obviously he can but possibly it his way of reminding himself to concentrate - and fits with other obsessive/compulsive placement habits.
