Lapierre at Premier Cru?

I've purchased Kermit Lynch wines closed out through Premier Cru in Emoryville before, but the 2009 Lapierre Morgon in 750s and magnums is the first time I've seen wines common to the Kermit Lynch portfolio there. Prices are nothing great. Anyone know if they're gray market? Either way, it's got to be an interesting story.

Not too surprising. Premier Cru's business model is to sell to label and point chasers. If Schildknecht had scored the wine at 91, rather than 93, then I really doubt Premier Cru would have stocked it.

I expect, but don't know, that they're sourcing through grey market. Pretty dangerous with a wine like Lapierre.

I think Kermit stopped selling to PC several vintages ago. I'd strongly suspect this is a gray market wine.

PC specializes in gray market, but they are reputed to be careful in their sourcing and transportation.

I thought B-21 in Florida mopped up all the old Kermit stuff nowadays.

Not the most astute grey market purchase, if so, considering it's six or seven bucks more than all the shops selling the Kermit version, which would also have to be a historic first for a Kermit wine...

True dat. Maybe they are changing their approach - bigger retail presence, higher margins, more conventional. Sale pricing has dropped off, in any event.

Well, OK, then, I haven't yet received my 03 Montrose. I didn't buy any 03 Montrose, but if I had, PC still wouldn't have had it in. And they damn well ought to have had already.
