What specifically about the Lapierre style do you not care for? That's what I was getting at.

It's a totally unsupported thesis for me, so to speak. The blast of fruit upfront is fantastic, I will admit, but it is on the exotic side of things in the raspberry/blackberry territory, and as such demands dynamicity in mid-to-back palate, which I find no evidence of. It's not that the wine is simple - there is plenty of pure simplicity to be admired around - but that it starts out by telling you that it's not.
