Could it be true?

I went once when they opened and haven't been back. Felt like the lobby of a Hilton in the midwest to me.

I felt like he explained what he was going to do and why he was going to do it, then went on to do it, mostly, for the food and the ambiance. Perhaps not for the dcor. The major error was rhapsodizing about a wine list he barely mentioned. One might have a few other quibbles here and there, but it was a sensible and supportable review. Well-written. Not stylish, but fair enough for the genre.

(You did ask for our thoughts on the review, not the restaurant.)

I went maybe a year after opening and thought it had a higher end chain feel, say a Ritz-Carlton in California vibe. The food was fine, although I remember nothing I had. When I saw the 4-star review, I was very surprised. But I haven't been back since the initial visit.

been once, and as mentioned in previous thread, did not like it. i fear that the tab is too lofty to try again...

but, i am curious, especially about lars' dessert advice...
