2004 ric Texier Ctes du Rhne-Brzme Domaine de Pergault - France, Rhne, Northern Rhne, Ctes du Rhne-Brzme (10/3/2010)
This is in a beautiful place, having transformed itself in just a few years. Haunting aromatics, lithe, black fruits, olive, rocks, this may last, but I don't know that it will show any better.

2007 Domaine Nigri Juranon Sec Sec Rserve - France, Southwest France, Juranon Sec (10/1/2010)
Nice, correct, but it didn't wow me. It did much better as it warmed from the fridge. Don't serve these too cold.

2002 Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erben Erdener Treppchen Riesling Auslese ** - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (10/1/2010)
Drinking nicely. Very fresh, still sweet, but open for business. I love their Treppchen.

2006 Domaine Tissot (Andr & Mireille now Stphane) Arbois Audace Poulsard passerill sur paille - France, Jura, Arbois (10/1/2010)
Very, very intense, and, as others have noted, very sweet. A little bit goes a long way. There is also a bitter element in the mid-palate that I found off-putting.

2001 Memer Burrweiller Schwer Riesling Sptlese - Germany, Pfalz (10/1/2010)
Holding nicely. Still fresh and pretty sweet. Delicious.

2007 Domaine du Murinais Crozes-Hermitage Vieilles Vignes - France, Rhne, Northern Rhne, Crozes-Hermitage (9/18/2010)
Good stuff. This was darker and more intense than the St. Joseph, with a homeopathic dose of brett, just a small hint of the barnyard that added to the package.

2007 Jeannine Boutin St. Joseph Parcelle de Jean - France, Rhne, Northern Rhne, St. Joseph (9/18/2010)
Yes. I loved this. It shows more floral, delicate, and red fruits than I'm used to from St. Joseph, but very convincing; and it picked up hints of olive as it aired. The pied hyper comes through.

2007 Domaine Perrachon Morgon Les Versauds - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon (9/17/2010)
Consistent with the first two. This is lovely. Wish I bought more.

Thanks for the notes, Cliff - the links to CT are a nice touch (you've changed your ID there, no?). We opened an 02 J.J.C. Uerziger Wuerzgarten AL last week that was in a good place too, though also a bit sweet. Very light on its feet. Now must dig out a Treppchen.

Thanks -- indeed, I switched identities awhile back. It took the 02 Christoffels awhile to open back up. My last couple have shown very young, but open.

Agreed tonight. Delicate, and wonderful aroma.

The only thing wrong with the wine was that Germany lost at the Euros while I was drinking it, otherwise beautiful and open for business.
