1996 Leroy Bourgogne, alc 12.5%. $30...clearing at the edges with the beginning of a browning effect...on the nose, initally musty but now earth and dried flowers predominate....mature tasting but with still fairly vibrant fruit with crushed roses and a very gentle soft texture...the forest floor/earthy nature of this is so representive of Burgundy to me...no tannins left...I seem to have caught this in it's "later life" but it still provides great interest and pleasure...
Who'd have thunk it??
