Winegeek joke

Winegeek jokeIf you have sex with a demi-mondaine, what do you get?
I don't know what you get but perhaps it makes one a demi-john?

Edit: And I have just seen that Kirk has already said it.

My rationale? The possibility of the man involved sexually with a demimondaine being described as 'something like a John' but without the financial transaction or a 'sort-of-john' or 'demi-john'.

I am quite sure Oswaldo has something altogether different (and far more clever) in mind, but yes, Nigel that was what i was thinking; i was assuming that the demimondaine's true "patron" was not the one having sex with her in Oswaldo's puzzle, but the fellow was likely paying one way or another.

(I see now the truth of the oft-repeated wisdom on this board that jokes really are MUCH funnier when explained.)

I shall not deign to explain. But sombeody got it right.

Just back from a six hour visit with Claude Courtois. Totally amazing experience, walking through the vines, tasting in the cellar, then a long lunch with his family. Lovely wines (also Julien's and Etienne's). At one point, just before lunch, he showed Marcia the ladies room and said to me, with an all-encompassing gesture: "we have all of nature to use as a pissoir." So we went out into the sauvignon vines and he peeded in one row and I in another. Yessir, ensemble peeing, in tandem with the great man himself, a moment to, well, remember. All that talk of copinage comes to roost. So, next time you smell cat pee in your sauvignon, ask not for whom the bells toll.
