Thevenet

This summer we sampled quite a few of the usual suspect beaujolais from 1999-2005-by far the stand out wine was the 2000 Thevenet. Perfectly balanced, seamless and moving into that pinotness but still retaining a gamay side. Last bottle-and a producer that seems to get no love from the beaujolais crowd here.

Let's not exaggerate.

There are positive notes in the archives.

(Even if not yet from the 09 frenzy).

Thevenet VV was in the top tier of 09s we tried this summer.

When the brett doesn't get to the Thevenet, to me it's the best of Beaujolais. But that seems to be about a 50/50 deal.

I wish he'd use a touch more sulfur.
