I was excited to try those 2 wines as I usually really enjoy Fred's wines.
2007 Domaine de Chassorney St. Romain Combe Bazin
Well this is interesting as compared with its 2008 brother, this is really different. Cloudy, lemon rock candy with a hint of smoke. Despite a high acidity, it does not have the same energy than the 2008 and almost seems tired. Maybe this is just the bottle. Still very easy to drink and enjoyable.
2008 Domaine de Chassorney St. Romain Combe Bazin
No added sulfite here.
Loved the nose with its purity, light oak and citrus notes. Round, great acidity/fruit balance. Really well made and delicious if not overly complex.
Overall, it's nice to always find enough acidity in his wines, usually much more than his counterparts in St Romain.
