Hello,
We made a curious dinner at the TGJP in Paris last friday with reds Ctes de Nuits 1999 (Amiot-Servelle, Gouges, Duband, Laurent, Mongeard...) and a Baudouin sweet wine.
See www.tgjp.com
Ask any questions on the forum and I will try to answer.
Best regards

Glad to see that your bad luck with red Burgundy continues!

But did anyone venture the notion that now is not the time to open such wines from 1999?

Hello,
The soire was running by two burgs specialist.
It was maybe not the time, but there were no wine in the glass : just shame for the prices !
Best regards

When did 'before' 'main course' and 'after' become French? I am astounded!
On the subject of the wines, you really can't make unready wines like this show well in concert, they need to be individually nurtured with the greatest love and care, even runts like Mongeard and Duband. The delightful thing about Burgundy degustations is that one can always guarantee that one will know even less at the end than at the beginning.
