2008 Jadot Beaune 'Clos des Ursules'

Thanks. I liked Arrowine a lot when I lived in town, but their prices - constrained by the Va 3-tier set-up, rarely seemed like bargains. Maybe it's true that the 08s are being priced to move off the shelves quickly.

Their shelf prices are rarely good, but each week they feature a few wines. If you get those and if you get them by the case then they have good prices. They put more of a premium on case purchases than any store I know - I probably would buy more there if that was not the policy.

Yeah, didn't mean to single them out. VA retail pricing is moderately high sui generis. Arrowine folks are decent, informed and into wine. No complaints.

Yes, and they bring in very good wines, wines nobody else has or is interested in. For example, they had Cedric Bouchard Champagnes years before anyone had heard of them.

Yes, true; they were also early exponents of Egly-Ouriet. They also do extraordinary occasional free tastings in the evenings. I went to a Burgundy one where they were pouring, iirc, Groffier Amoureuse and suchlike. For yokels like me! The owners are very into what they do.
