The bit in his column today (towards the end) re the '09 Lapierre, and the (unstated, uniform) absence of sulfur was a bit bizarre, no? If it was an "N", was it hand carried in to the US? Inquiring minds ....

Bert Cecle indicates the only time Lapierre added sulfur was at racking. Asimov's general statement appears incorrect about Lapierre's use of sulfur in general.

I hear reports that Eric had a 'sickening feeling' when told that Lapierre had used sulfur, after the report was already published. And yet, I am told, his facial expression was unyielding, at best.
