2009 Clos Roche Blanche Touraine Cabernet 12%

Oswaldo Costa

Oswaldo Costa
Cabernets Franc & Sauvignon,
macerated together to play down
the varietal characteristics of each
for the greater god of terroir.
Do I buy that?
Apparently I do, at $18.99

Appealing and heady,
ripe cherry and rosemary.
Medium tannins, fine acid/sweet balance,
the combo attractively grippy.
Light bitter finale,
pleasurably astringent.

Has not quite the million dollar smile of the Gamay,
but delivers well above its price point.
Would go well with your turkey,
a bird that is a cross between a hen and a duck,
genetically blended to play down
the varietal characteristics of each boid.
For the greater good of Plymouth Rock.
