Guy Bossard Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2007 Cuvee Classique - Bright, clean and minerally, stonefruited, a bit like sucking on a cherry pit, in a good way. Good, honest muscadet. Very happy that this is the single muscadet available in my hometown.

Domaine Les Hautes Noelles Gamay 2009 - Shit Sandwich

No seriously this gamay is offensively bad. The bottle I've got here was imported by The Wine Company, St. Paul, MN. I've had a few of their wines and not been terribly disappointed, I may have even seen old Texier imported by them, unless I'm confusing them with another MN importer, but this is fucking awful. Candied sweet, banana inflected (what's that beaujolais cultured yeast strain, B71?) Like bad nouveau. Bad shit. A quick search tells me this is also imported by Michael Skurnik wines. I wanted a simple Loire valley gamay, what I got was a shitty ass beaujolais nouveau wannabe. Yuck.

Their Muscadet is imported by North Berkeley as well. Not sure about the gamay. The white is never great to my taste but fine. The gamay sounds awful. I guess there's no other reaction to "shit sandwich."
