the new foil cap doesn't show up on all tardive bottles, for whatever reason.

Very cool new foil cap, BTW.
Hmmm, it was wax on the last one I saw.....

Same comment I had before: Don't drink these upper cuvees now
So true.

Coudert Tardive is not half the fun it was 9 months ago. The rest of mine are buried.

We knew you were getting some 3000s when you wrote your BJ trip notes this year - you mentioned that you'd asked Coudert to bottle some for you. Nice accompaniment to your Clisson doubles.

I wanted to buy one of these, too, when Chambers had them, but practicality has to assert itself every once and a while. It's reassuring to know at least one of them found a good home!

the people's plutocratic front now has its own monument and site of pilgrimage, i see.

ComparaisonsListen, you know, it's really all about the size of your Roilette, not when you drink it.

listen, I share a cellar with the man, and when I was offered both mags and double mags of clisson, I opted for the mags. I understand Hierarchy.

Not to mention utility!

It was actually including the Vatan at all that constituted being an asshole. Penance would consist of, fr'ex, packing it up and mailing it to me.

Drop over some time. I'll open one for you. And if you're nice, it won't be a 2003.

But you're not posting pictures on the internet. Drinking one of yours, while fun (as long as it's not the 2003), doesn't punish anyone's misbehavior.

indeed: I have both amd the wine is more closed now, depending on the foil.

Is it the banded foil capsule that's more closed?

I want to know too because I'm opening one next week. Have one that is banded, and several that aren't. I wonder why they might be different when they all say L0001 and are otherwise identical.

BTW, I'm taking regular, not Tardive; the two bottles above appear to be regular.

People sometimes run out of foil.

Exactly, so all that would say is that the foiled ones were bottled before the non-foiled ones. Wait, unless they had first run out of foil and in the middle of bottling the foil came in, so it's the other way round. Fuck geekery, I give up. It's probably completely irrelevant.

I think they targeted your sanity but you caught on in time.

Capsules are rarely put on during bottling. Bottles are seldom labeled at that time, either. That all happens just before the wines are ready to be sent out. The likely scenario is that they made a decision to change to a fancier capsule but wanted to use up the old ones first. But now obsessives have something new with which to torture themselves (and others) for years to come. Decades from now people can speculate that the non-banded bottles are fakes!
